Bah. Have a *blog* now :) tune in there for updates, it's sooo much easier.

Inland Invasion (oh so long ago) was soooo cool. But WOW did I feel my age!

We got there around 12:30 and hung in the parking lot eating lunch and having a few beers, that was all good fun (we were not the only ones there). Then we went in around 2:30, missed Dramarama, General Public and Berlin (they changed the lineup) but just caught Bow Wow Wow.. they were GREAT! I want candddyyy.. . Psych Furs were awesome as well. The Violent Femmes were probably my ultimate favorite. They always manage a great show. Lot's of energy. Loved it. Echo got kinda old after a bit, but it was still great to see them perform and I was nicely surprised with Hot Hot Heat. I was pretty sure they were going to be a 'one hit wonder' but after seeing them live I'm not so sure. Lot's of energy there too and they really know how to get the crowd going, not easy with something like 50 thousand hot, tired, sweaty people. (Most had been out there from around noon in 100+ degree heat with no shade other than what you could make yourself). Duran Duran. Never been one of my favorites.. don't even own one of their records.. but they sure know how to put on a show. Completely enjoyed that! And there's the *flashback* factor.. lot's of old memories associated with their lineup. Most of them good even! The most dissappointing was the Cure. They are one of my all time favorites. I don't think they could have picked a worse line up. Not only did they come on late they chose some of their most depressing songs possible. Not a good idea after 10pm for a crowd that's suffering from sun stroke, too much beer, and barely awake. They hit a couple good ones but not enough to make me stay. First time I've ever walked out on the Cure.. :(

Bah.

I'm going to Inland Invasion! WOOO HOOO!

KROQ’S INLAND INVASION III: FLASHBACK TO THE FUTURE
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2003

SIDE STAGE

  • 1:00-1:30 Jet
  • 1:50-2:20 Kings of Leon
  • 2:40-3:10 Fountains of Wayne

MAIN STAGE

The ones in bold are the one's I'm most excited to see. What's really cool is that the 20th is my 34th bday! Happy Birthday to me! Managed to get tickets off ebay, lawn seats for 140$ + shipping not to bad.. until you consider that they originally went for 40$ each.. but way cool when you see what the other tickets are going for. Hope I actually get them in time. KROQ has been doing a great job on the Flashback Lunch lately so I'm totally in 80's mode pulling out the Oingo Boingo, Depeche Mode, The Cure, David Bowie, Femmes, Social D, yadda yadda..

This is great LiquidGeneration.com 80's Quiz, I scored a 98 (not sure if I should be proud of this).

Special Mention 5-23-03

This month an internet pioneer passed away. Jim Wilson, after struggling with heart related illness for over a year, passed on May 6th. While I never really got to know the man himself, I believe we exhanged a total of 1 email after I botched my profile email and could no longer access my account, we did jointly participate in a few threads at Search Engine Forums (SEF) that were highly enjoyable and interesting. And I've read just about every there contained withing SEF and GHF (GetHighForums) so I do, strangely, feel like I know him. If you have not already visited the Jim Wilson Memorial Site I strongly recommend that you do. The biography is up now which gives a bit of personal background on Jim. And, kinda freaky, I just found out that we share a birthday. So from now on, as a thank you for creating such a wonderful community that I am so happy to be a part of, I will make a special toast to Jim and what he created for us all to share.

Well, the php template I thought was so cool was starting to get on my nerves. I like being able to see what I'm doing when I do it and that just wasn't happening the way I had it setup. Soo fixed that puppy finally. And now here come the emails of "Hey! You're supposed to be working on My Site not Your's!" Yep, getting there..

Finally got upgraded to Dreamweaver MX.. loving it. Took a bit to get use to but Loving It. I really like how you can hide the toolbar on the right.. to bad you can't do that in Fireworks MX as well. Anyways.. visually not different, but back end is. More along the lines of a dreamweaver template now using PHP includes for the nav and other elements that are static. I've got some more cool pictures that I took at The Getty that I'm going to start swapping the header image with on different pages. If you've never been to The Getty in Los Angeles I highly recommend it. Even kids have fun there. My daughter loves it. We went there for Mothers Day and had a great time sitting in the garden sketching the flowers and waterfall. Very relaxing.
